BECCA - chapter 2
December 16 2009

When Becca finally opened up she informed me that her other half was in county lockup for writing hotchecks and would be there for about 4 years. Somehow or other the story just didn't seem to ring true tho. There was still this little niggling in my gut, telling me differently. I am glad I listened to it and didn't get to friendly with Becca. Carol had warned me that she had felt the same way when she also met Becca, but both of us were willing to give her a chance. Eventually Becca stopped coming around. Then one day we saw her with another man. An older man, who had been seen many times standing on the corner of the road holding up a sign that read out of work. Then one day the unthinkable happened. The police showed up and started questioning people in general. They had a picture of a woman. That woman was indeed Becca. None of us knew her last name, we only knew her by Becca. She didn't live in the apt number she had given anyone, using a different number each time. One by one people identified her as Becca. But Becca wasn't Becca and her ole man wasn't in lockup for hot checks. Instead he was in the county coroners office and Becca, who was no longer coming around was apparently on the run, now traveling with the older man we had seen on the corner. I do hope that man will be okay.
