When It Hurts
June 14 2010

I ask you what's wrong

You strongly say 'Nothing, I'm fine'

Don't you know by now I can tell that you're lying

Your eyes tell me you're hurting inside

Sweetie, it's been too long since I've seen that carefree smile, with no facade and only joy.

You're fading away baby girl and there's nothing I can do to stop you.

That hurts like hell.

I can't put my arms around you and eradicate all your concerns.

That hurts like hell.

I know that this is your journey and I can't travel along those many windy roads with you.

Its raining and thunder storming and I don't have the power to make it stop.

What I will do forever is provide you with new runners when the sole's of the old one's are worn.

I will give you my umbrella to shelter you from getting wet.

I will be the one whispering in your ear or yelling at the top of my lungs in encouragement for you.

See you at the end of your journey when the sun comes out,

when the universe applauds you and the rainbow after the storm smiles upon you.

See you when your Smile returns.
