LISTEN CLOSELY
June 29 2009

Listen Closely

Close your eyes; clear your mind. Imagine canyons, mountains, rivers and streams, surrounding you. You can hear the gently sloping terrain softly calling your name.

“Please, listen closely as the mighty Earth has something to say.”

“Partake of my beauty, God’s giving it to you. Within the walls of my canyons are food, clothing and shelter. It is for you, and the creatures of this world. You must share this land. But, may I ask?
Why do you, the most intelligent of all creatures, destroy it? When man take axes in hand, they destroy a birds home. My caves are for you to live in; if you don’t, then please, let the animals have them. Nature’s homes at one time, were good enough for you, why do you now destroy them? God gave you berries and the knowledge to grow them. Yet, you trampled them. Now the bear, which supplies the fur to keep you warm, has no fruit. Why must you destroy them?
The oxygen from the trees clean the air; the sun melts the snow, providing water for the rivers, meant to quench your thirst. God gave it to you because He loved you; Because He cared. Why must you destroy it?
God did the best He could, yet you are not happy. You think you have to improve it. If you can, then by all means; try. But, can you turn a sky blue? Or ease the pain of someone whose whole world just fell apart? No, you can’t. You are only human. Your Earth when it comes right down to it, is all you really have. It is your home. Mother Earth. Not some house, but the Earth, with all of it’s glorious canyons, mountains, rivers, and streams.

WHY OH WHY, MUST YOU DESTROY IT?”

Truly yours,
Earth.
